Winterization & Filtration

Winterizing is the process of chilling the extracted oil to cryogenic temperatures to promote the separation of waxes and lipids from the oil prior to filtration of these elements. We offer the tanks, chillers, heat exchanges, and lenticular filters to complete your winterization and filtration process.

Cold Storage Tanks

  • Jacketed storage tanks from 60G to 1200G
  • 316 Stainless Steel
  • Domed top, dished bottom, and pressure rating availble
  • Bottom outlet & recirculation ports
  • Built in CIP spray ball for cleaning

Heat Exchangers

  • Shell & tube and gasketed plate heat exchangers
  • Sized based on requirements for your process
  • 316 Stainless Steel
  • Capable of dropping from extraction temps to -40C with Ultra-Low Temp Dynalene fluid
  • Chilling to -80C possible

Filters

  • Designed to remove fats and lipid from winterized solution
  • Multi-stage filtration
  • 5 micron bag filters for larger particle filtration
  • 1 micron lenticular filter for small particle filtration
  • Activated carbon filters for chlorophyll removal
  • Pressure monitoring to notify operator of need for maintenance
